I was raised near the beach cities of Southern California and attended schools in the Los Angeles area. I completed my Master of fine Arts in Painting at UCLA in 1981. I was fortunate to study under many talented and famous artists who inspired me to become an artist and teacher. I began my teaching career at that time and have continued to enjoy it. Currently, I reside in a suburb north of Atlanta, Georgia and teach art and design classes at the Art Institute of Atlanta. I love to paint, which is my first passion, but I am also expanding my skills to computer graphics. My teaching experience includes teaching art in inner-city schools. I've also taught at various community colleges. I've learned many interesting things from the variety of ages and backgrounds of my students. Living closer to a natural environment has brought me closer to the landscape in terms of design, color and spirituality. Both my art and my teaching keep me highly motivated, creative and challenged. I believe that creative acts build self-esteem, critical thinking and self-knowledge. I hope that through my teaching and my art that I can help people design a more rewarding and productive life. |
